Rain and mud, how nice. This Sunday we drove to Extrema, in the state of Minas Gerais, and engaged in a football charity event, arranged by an active and dedicated Dutch crowd. The 34 pairs of shoes we bought in January were given out today. The children were thrilled and grateful and did not mind the pouring rain but it certainly bothered us gringos. Some of the youngsters' football skills were mind blowing. Might see them in the European leagues soon... The recanto (quiet retreat) is beautifully located up in the mountains neighboring the clouds. Not far from a paradise. After the mud peeling we all enjoyed a churrasco and a very profitable auction with products donated by Philips and Bosch, Dutch of course.
