Swedish National Day
On 6 June 1523 Sweden became a nation state under the rule of Gustav Vasa, whom also was elected our first king on this very date.
We have had an amazing family day down in Falsterbo, where we have a summer house. Sunshine, wine, strawberries, herring, photo sessions, beach walk, shorts, BBQ and much more. Our first summer day and I certainly hope it stays like this.

A Classic
It's been a while; steak tartare. On my father's request we had, both him and my mother, over for dinner last night serving this Central Asian originated dish. Offering them steak tartare is the least we can do considering how much they are helping out with our samba princess. Win win!

Modern Family
One family, three nationalities. Dutch, Brazilian and Swedish. This weekend we are off to Holland to enjoy a great Christmas meal with wonderful friends. Fingers crossed that the storm Alexander won't close down Kastrup.

Dutch Family
The Flying Dutchman's sister and family came to visit us this weekend. Once again the beauty of being back in Europe where weekend long family rendez-vous are possible. Our busy days together included shopping (obviously exhausting for the Swedish-Dutch cousins), celebration of the Dutch Sinterklaas and a very disappointing visit to the Christmas market in Katrinetorp in the outskirts of Malmö.
Imagine, in a few years my daughter will be trilingual. Amazing, awesome...
