Happy Easter

Happy Easter from Sao Paulo. My second Easter in Brazil. Time flies. Incredible. The day before Easter, last year, Brazil became my new home. Today my thoughts are with my family and cousins who are having a wonderful Easter lunch together in my family home. Plenty of laughters and jokes, Easter decorations that have followed for generations, delicious food, schnaps songs, linen napkins ending up on the floor, yellow tulips and candles, Easter egg hunt for the younger ones, stains on the table cloth... Just the way it is supposed to be. Living abroad makes your family traditions much more important and it is not always easy to re-construct in your new home environment.

Yesterday in school all teachers got a chocolate surprise with a personal message. Of course the chocolate was appreciated but the message was even sweeter. Someone made an effort to write something personal. Worth gold! I really treasure handwritten messages and always keep them. The chocolate I will consume but the lovely note I will keep and use a bookmark. That message made my day, especially the line at the very bottom. You are special!
