Yet another Brazilian bureaucratic challenge but I passed with braveur. Took the metro to Republica, walked into our law firm, asked for water gelato, went through my docs (can't do that too many times) with our lawyer, walked over to the communist look alike institution Atendimento Ao Trabalhador, had my appointment at 2pm and was 15 minutes early, at 1.55pm I walked out of the building with my mission completed. Such a smooth process. Had planned for frustration and misunderstanding but no need. What a relief!

So, what's a Carteira de Trabalho? A passport look alike pamphlet that Dilma introduced which will keep track of your employments, salaries, taxes...
