Cool Women

On Wednesday, two days ago, I had the opportunity to spend a full day with Novare, a Swedish foundation. Novare offers mentor programmes for ladies in senior position and our day in Sao Paulo was arranged by the Swedish Chamber. Together we visited interesting and impressive companies. An impressive company is indeed the Brazilian Natura. One of the world's leading cosmetic and body care companies and its production, facilities and sustainable development programme were really something. Unfortunately we couldn't visit the shop since the president, of the company, was being interviewed.

From Natura we moved on to SKF, a Swedish company which was established in Brazil in 1915, next year, 100 years in Brazil. Very hospitable management team and indeed interesting to learn more about Swedish bearings on the Brazilian market. Be aware, they better watch out for their Chinese competitors.

From bearings to healthcare. Our next stop was the hospital Israelita Albert Einstein. Regarded as the best hospital in Brazil and I understand why, felt like a 5 stars hotel rather than a hospital. Sadly, it is only one percent of the population who has access to treatment in this hospital and very modestly, I can admit that I am one of those privileged ones. Quite contradictory for a Swede coming from a country that has successfully managed to build up a solid healthcare system that includes everyone.

After healthcare we moved on to EF Education First, the world's largest education provider. My old employer in Dubai. First a cocktail on the rooftop and afterwards a presentation about the company and its products. I realized how much I miss to work for this dynamic and fast growing company. I can confess that EF has a lot of impressive projects and involvements coming up in Brazil. Yet another Swedish company that has grown to a world wide giant.

My favorite goodie bag during the day came from Natura, of course. A limited edition perfume made out of ingredients from the Amazon. Can't be any more Brazilian than that!!

All in all, an excellent day of inspiration, boost and network!
